I really think it's part the photographer and part the lighting... the same girl is in the previous two photographs, and one of those is shot at a very odd angle, with her feet almost the focal point of the picture... making them appear larger than I think they are... the B & W picture might be the best of the three I have of her...
Regarding the picture of the girl on the fountain, are her feet optically distorted?
